Orby Engineering is a long-established company with over 60 years engineering experience and is famed for manufacturing high-quality feeding systems for dairy parlours. The company (originally based in Portadown) was founded by Orby Brown, who lead the family-owned business for many years. When the company came up for sale due to retirement The Brown Family were happy to sell the company to Stephen Cromie, the managing director of Exact Group NI.
With a background in farming himself, Stephen did not have to be convinced of the merits of the Orby feeder, as his father had used Orby feeders in his milking parlour for over 30 years and never once had to repair them.
Stephen and his wife Marie strongly believe that Orby can be taken to another level with a new team who will market the company’s products more forcibly, manufacture them more efficiently and are proud to be associated with the well known and respected Orby brand.
Today, Orby Engineering Ltd is an associated company within the Exact Group, a predominately aerospace engineering group of companies based in Newry, with a wealth of precision engineering experience and cutting edge equipment and techniques… we feel this is an ideal collaboration, ensuring that Orby remains a market leader in its ‘field’.
